Swiss luxury watchmaker, Patek Philippe's latest creation is certainly set to make bank managers' hearts ticking. With a staggering $2.5m price tag, the 5175R Grandmaster Chime watch has 1366 movement components, 214 case components and a double face which is reversible.
The company is renowned for producing some of the most complicated watch movements in the world and the Grandmaster Chime is no exception. The company was so proud of its latest creation, it even made a video following its production from drawing board to wrist.
Seven years in development, the watch took two years just to assemble and includes seven patented inventions inside its not inconsiderable casing.
Watching the production at least hints at the reason for the eyewatering price tag.
