Total's new plant makes Singapore a lubes hub

Total has opened a lubricant oils blending plant in Singapore.

Located in Tuas, the French oil and gas conglomerate's new plant will produce lubricants for automotive, industrial and marine equipment and will help Total service Asia's fast growing lubes market.

By 2025, the Asia-Pacific region is expected to account for 40% of all revenue Total earns from lubricants.

The site will increase the company's current annual production capacity in Singapore from 180,000 to 310,000 tons once the plant is fully operational. The end of 2015 will see a shift from two existing plants to the single new facility.  It will also be used to ship lubricants to China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and 23 other countries.
