Using lubes technology will be key driver in helping China's fight for cleaner air, OATS' representative will tell ICIS delegates.
In a presentation entitled ‘Economic growth vs Clean air? The drivers for Lubricants specifications in China’, OATS' China Liaison Manager, Diana Shen, is set to highlight the current state of hazardous air quality in China, its impact on public health and the need for cleaner air and cleaner energy.
Shen will also discuss the challenge for China to reduce emissions through better oil and the acceleration of lubricants improvements to help reduce pollution levels.
Her presentation will be delivered at the 8th ICIS Asian Base Oils & Lubricants Conference, which takes place in Singapore from Tuesday 24th to Thursday 26th June 2014, having been invited back to share her knowledge with the conference audience for a second time. This year's conference again features speakers from across the lubricants Industry including BP, ViscoLube, ICIS China & United Oil Company.
Shen first spoke at the conference in 2012 when she addressed the subject of lubes and China's burgeoning vehicle market, including an examination of predicted trends for both private and commercial vehicles. She suggested that, particularly with the nation's drive for clamping down on emissions, many drivers may be using the wrong autolubes. This year's presentation will highlight the increased role lubes producers could now play in helping China combat wider air quality issues.

Shen stated: "I am delighted to have been asked back to present at this conference and am looking forward to a busy few days of networking and insight.”
