The new deal will see the oil major continue its global preferred supplier lubes agreement through until 2015 providing both factory and service fill for all Hyundai vehicles. As previously, the agreement will also include R&D collaboration and joint marketing across Hyundai's global network.
The deal extends a relationship that was first established in 2005. In that time, according to Shell's Execturive VP for Lubricants, David Pirret, Shell has:" worked hard to deliver a competitive advantage to Hyundai through our cutting edge lubricants technology, high quality products and joint marketing programmes. The combined strength of our two global brands will continue to benefit Hyundai motorists and dealers worldwide.”
As part of the agreement, Shell runs a number of loyalty programmes with Hyundai workshops and dealerships, including quick-lube services for customers.
