Scrap plastic into fuel

US company is the latest to convert scap plastic into fuel.

Akron, Ohio-based Vadxx Energy is investing £20m in a waste conversion plant in Ohio.

The plant will have a daily output of 300 barrels of petrochemical products refined from 60 tons of plastic previously destined for landfill.  The output will be used to make diesel fuel and lubricants.

The site, set to be completed by the end of the year, was originally to be located in Cleveland but local objections led to a move to the northeast of the State. The Environment Protection Agency (EPA) says that the plant will emit only minor pollution.
