Samsung's truck has a clear view ahead.
The Safety Truck is being trialled in Argentina where one person an hour dies on the roads.
Inspired by Russian design house, Art Lebedev, the Transparentius concept places a front-mounted wireless camera in the cab of a truck which then displays oncoming traffic on four large monitors on the truck's rear doors.
Samsung has succeeded in overcoming challenges like solar glare and there is also a night vision mode.
While it may be relatively low-cost for an audio visual manufacture such as Samsung, it's difficult to see how most transport companies will be able to afford the cost of four displays per truck, particularly as there won't be any immediate financial benefit. Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication (V2V) may be a more realistic option with vehicles able to exchange information about nearby traffic activity and road conditions.
