Forget large 'watches' or glasses, a new line in 18 carat gold-plated rings could be the world's first 'smart' jewellery. Ringly has been designed to alert the wearer to new messages on their smartphone.
Founded by a former eBay executive, the Ringly brand features semi-precious gems and connects to the wearer's iPhone or Android device. It is being pre-sold online for between $195 and $260.
The ring notifies its wearer by vibrating and blinking a small side light. Ideal for the next oil change reminder.
