Mazda 6 is plagued by spiders...again.
Three years ago OATS revealed the recall of Mazda 6 sedans in North America because of a spider problem.
Now the insects have taken a liking to the smell of petrol in 2.5 litre sedans built between 2010 and 2012. Some 42,000 vehicles have now been recalled because of the same issue - engine vents being blocked by spiders' webs.
During the previous recall Mazda added a spring to the canister vent line to keep spiders from crawling inside. Although this worked on many vehicles, there were reports of cracked fuel tanks in sedans equipped with the spring.
The automotive manufacturer is now planning to reprogram the car's software as well as checking and clearing the evaporative canister vent line.
Currently, no other Mazda models are reported as being affected by the eight-legged menace.
