Opened in December 2013, the 60,000 sq.m site is the first Japanese lubricant blending plant to be built in Vietnam.
With 80 employees (including six seconded employees from the Idemitsu Kosan headquarters the plant has begun production of engine oil for motorcycles and cars, as well as general industrial lubricants in response to an ever-increasing demand for finished lubes products in the country.
The plant will allow Idemitsu to move away from outsourcing product production, whilst also providing a base for exports across the Southeast Asian region.
