The Mini brand is set for another revamp, this time with innovative engine and drivetrain developments along with some ultra-modern driver-assistance tehcnology.

BMW which now owns and manufactures the Mini, will be fitting a new-range of specially-developed three and four-cylinder engines to allow broader vehicle performance.

Handling will also be enhanced, undoubtedly helped by the car's recent successes in its return to the World Rally Championship. For the first time ever, Minis will have adjustable dampers which are electronically controlled, allowing different kinds of responsiveness to uneven road surfaces.  Mini drivers will be able to choose between a firmer, sporty drivetrain setting or a more balanced, comfortable ride.

The driving experience is set to be enhanced further with future Mini models incorporating a range of new 'driver assist' safety systems which include a head-up display, delivering important road information without the driver having to take their eyes off the road.
