Chinese lubes marketer promotes its fuel-saving products, according to Lube Report Asia
Lopal Tech has launched a new range of energy-efficient, eco-friendly engine oils that tap into growing public concerns of the environment, says industry journal Lube Report Asia.
The series will also include antifreeze, automatic transmission fluids, brake fluids and gear oils.
Headquarted in Nanjing, the marketer gained nationwide attention by sponsoring a daredevil car jump across the Amur River in Heilongjiang Province earlier this year.
While not yet on par with international rivals like Shell, Total or Castrol, and lacking the financial clout of domestic rivals such as Kunlun or Great Wall Lubes, the company is keen to compete on quality. In a recent interview with Lube Report Asia, Lopal President Shi Junfeng claimed it would challenge multinationals head-on.
Lopal exclusively purchases both base oils and additives from global companies such as ExxonMobil and Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical. Recently, the firm secured an agreement to receive API Group II and III base oils from South Korea’s SK.
The Chinese firm’s Fang Shen Bao automotive lubes line will also feature an anti-leak function.
