Lamborghini’s factory and headquarters become CO2 Neutral

Lamborghini's factory and HQ are CO2 neutral.

The Sant'Agata Bolognese plant has a host of energy saving systems including a trigeneration system, district heating systems, photovoltaic plants and a cogeneration plant.  As a result, the company has received a CO2 neutral certification, the first of its kind.

Trigeneration combines cooling, heat and power with the simultaneous generation of electricity and useful heating and cooling from the combustion of natural gas.  Cogeneration is a thermodynamically efficient use of fuel.

As a result of the technology, the Italian automaker saves about 820 tonnes of CO2 each year.
