Google has updated its content algorithm.
Google's search engine algorithms have been developed to restrict the use of website content which is highly duplicative or designed to 'fool' search-bots (the automated tools used by search engine companies to classify and rank the value of content) into believing content is legitimate and important when, in fact, its only purpose is spam-based marketing.
According to Fannit.com, the latest rolling update of Google's Panda algorithm, could have benefits for small business owners who tend to focus more on their clients' needs by generating authentic content. However, because of Google's Coke-like approach to protecting its algorithm 'recipe', much of the detail remains guesswork on the part of the digital marketing industry.
Websites which weren't penalised by the last update or didn't make adequate changes to their content, may be caught in the latest Panda push, but the hint from Google is that the latest code might be more like the animal it's named after. Soft and cuddly until provoked.
