The United Arab Emirates' oil producer has opened its new lubricants and grease plant in the Emirate of Fujairah.

The first phase of Emirates National Oil Company's (ENOC) Lubricants and Grease Manufacturing Plant (ELOMP) provides an annual capacity of 100,000 tonnes of mineral and synthetic lubricants as well as 5,000 tonnes of grease.
Further expansion, scheduled for three phases between now and 2014, will see capacity rise to 250,000 tonnes of lubricants and grease, making it one of the largest blending plants of its kind in the Middle East and Africa.
ENOC has invested in the 63,000M² site with a view to targeting more than 50 countries across the region as well as Asia and Australasia. The plant, which will produce a wide range of oils and greases for the transport and industrial sectors, includes the very latest batch blending, filling and packing technology including six filling lines for small package production.
Fujairah is also the site of one of the largest bunker fuel and marine transit ports in the world, with a dedicated storage and supply line to and from the ENOC plant for raw and finished materials. According to an ENOC spokesman, the company is "committed to further developing our footprint in Fujairah to support the Emirate’s plans to become one of the largest hubs for bunkering."
The opening of the new plant comes only one month after ENOC inaugurated its $180m Horizon Terminal complex in Tangier, North Africa, with a storage capacity of 508,000M³ and road and ship access for delivery into Africa and Europe.
