The latest fluid development is, according to the chemical major, fully compliant with GE's
newly revised lubricant recommendation GEK 32568h. The product is designed to prevent varnish formation in gas turbines which causes costly shutdowns and the need for varnish-management measures such as filtration.
The fluid, currently available in North America under the EcoSafe TF-25 brand from American Chemical Technologies. is also designed to increase turbine reliability and operational efficiency, as well as year-round protection against seasonal changes.
The revised GE specifications allow turbine operators to use PAG-based lubricants without concerns about voiding their warranties. PAG-based formulations are becoming increasingly popular for a range of lube applications.
