Transporting kids by 'bike has always been a challenge - do they sit up front where you can see them, or behind you for simplicity?
A new European trend seems to be for kids getting a birds'-eye view of what's ahead with a number of 'bikes being developed that put the kids in the front seat.
A modern take on the fold-up 'bike has gone one step further, with Taga producing a very chiq bike-come-buggy. The folding 'bike can be unfolded into a 'bike with a buggy seat up front. The rear wheel then folds round to convert it into a normal buggy when required.
For the larger, more relaxed family, the Dutch have a slightly more functional alternative: the electric Cargo Bike. This one allows kids to travel two-up in front with battery power helping the pedalling parent.
Apparently kids up front is the 'must have' in Europe, even if they are described as 'cargo'!
