Weichai release new lubes line

Chinese producer introduces a new lubricants range for the construction industry

Weichai Power Co's new line comes after a longstanding collaboration with Shell to engineer premium products for the nation's booming construction industry.

Weichai, which also produces auto components such as engines, axles and transmissions, claims the new products will improve efficiency across the industry.

According to Weichai, the construction industry is rife with 'bad habits', including using standard diesel oil for construction machinery, filling National III machines with CF-4 grade lubes and using generally substandard fuels on highly specialised equipment. Using improper lubes can reduce efficiency, damage equipment and increase the failure rate in mechanical equipment.

Weichai is also introducing its new hydraulics range, which has also been extensively tested at high temperatures. The hydraulic fluid, it claims, has a lifespan of 4,000 continuous hours at 95?; at 135? it will last for a still impressive seven consecutive days.

As a market leading producer of individual components, Weichai has a key insight into the challenges faced by lubes producers in the space. Currently, Weichai enjoys an 80% market share of 50 ton loaders and a 50% market share of 30 ton loaders.
