Total and OiLibya's Egyptian processing joint venture has come onstream.
The new facility, sited in Borg El Arab, comprises a tank farm and blending unit operated by Oil Products Storage and Blending Alexandria (OPSBA). The operation will be split 65-35% between Total and OiLibya respectively.
Completed in October this year, the facility spans over 34,000 m2 and consists of a 40,000 metric tons per year lubes blending unit, an administration building for the 50 on-site staff, a depot with 23 tanks cabable of storing 8,000 m3 of product and an onsite laboratory to for quality control and oil analysis.
Using state-of-the-art technology, the blending unit will produce a wide range of high-performance lubricants for manufacturing, agricultural and construction machinery as well as the automotive sector.
With ten years of growth in the Egyptian market, OiLibya sess the new venture as an opportunity to meet growing demand. The lubricants business is the most profitable segment of the portfilio of its partner Total Egypt.
