In a bid to boost its presence in a growing market, Sinopec has sent its first batch of JH-1 grease for South Africa’s electric locomotive market.
The grease, which has been specially designed for sustained use under tough conditions, also offers increased protection.
The export follows a $2bn deal between China Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co Ltd and South Africa’s Transnet Co Ltd to furnish the BRICS nation with high-end rail transportation.
Meanwhile in Cameroon, the energy giant has set up a corporate entity with a view to oil and gas exploration and production. Sinopec International Petroleum Service Corporation Cameroon may also conduct oil product trading, lubricant production and sale, refining, bitumen production and other related areas.
The Group is already engaged in exploration activities through its local partner Addax Petroleum, and has also increased its overall production in Cameroon by over 40%.
