Chinese oil giant is to close its Guangdong 50,000 bpd factory for repairs

Starting from the June 20th, Sinopec's Maoming refinery, situated in Guangdong province, will be closed for 20 days.

The 50,000 barrel-per-day crude oil distillation unit will be closed while Sinopec conducts a series of major repairs.

Some of the plants secondary units will also be closed for repairs, according to an industry source.

Consequently, Maoming plans to produce only 270,800 bpd of crude in July, 11% less than the 301,700 bpd processed in June. The plant has an annual capacity of 13.5 million metric tons and supplies most of the oil products to South and Southwest China.
