A versatile lubricant line from a joint venture has received public praise in the SUV and turbo sector

Shell Tongyi Petrochemical Ltd, a joint venture between Shell and Tongyi Petrochemical, took three industry awards at the “Chinese Oil Industry Annual Awards” this year.
The company, formed in 2006, won the prestigious “Most Popular Lubes Brand – 2013”, the “2013 Gold Award for Best Market Performance” and the “Most-Followed Microblog Account”.
The joint venture stocks a total of 89 different lubes products, but won praise for its versatile U-Series lube, which can be used on SUVs, naturally aspirated engines and turbo engines alike.
Zhang Shanying, an agent for the company, claims the products premium quality gives the lube excellent oxidation resistance and thermal stability.
Zhang also claimed that the company would continue to focus on the growing demand for synthetic oils over the next five years, and will continue to develop products meeting SM, SL, SJ and SG specifications.
Sales at Shell Tongyi grew by 9% through 2012 due to the increasing popularity and lower production overheads of synthetic lubricants.
