London commuters saw the word Mini re-defined as the small car became a super-sized people carrier.
The question "how many adults can you fit in a Mini?" now has a new answer. Most people would guess that the pint-sized automotive icon could hold eight or 10 people, perhaps 12 at a squeeze. But they'd be wrong.

It took nearly 20 minutes of contortion, pushing and squeezing, but Guiness World Record Day celebrated a new fact: you can fit 28 women into a Mini! The incredible feat was achieved by members of a gym in Eastbourne in the South of England.
The 28-strong team went one better than 2011, when they first set the record. After finally cramming themselves into the Mini's "spaced-saving" interior, thanks to carefully planned choreography, the doors and windows had to remain closed for five seconds to make the record count.
World Record Day also saw a host of other records smashed, from the longest note held on a digeridoo to the fastest 100M running on all fours and the most coconuts smashed with bare hands in one minute.
