Beijing commute is 97 minutes says survey.
Next time you are stuck in traffic or your train is delayed, it may be worth remembering that the average commuter in Beijing spends more than three hours each day travelling to and from work.
A recent survey, compiled by national news outlet Xinhua, showed that commuters were slowed down by traffic and congestion.
There is little respite for citizens of China's other major cities either. Residents of Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen also spend around 90 minutes in the daily commute to their workplace, while residents of Tianjin, Nanjing, Shenyang and Chongqing spend a comparatively modest 65 minutes door-to-door. However, that still represents between two and three hours on the road each day.
According to IBM's 2011 Global Commuter Pain Survey Beijing was ranked as the city with the worst commuting conditions in the world.
