How do you make your special day special? Certainly when competing with 1.3bn people it is hard to do something truly original, but, as always, love finds a way. However, Chinese weddings have moved a long way from the traditional sedan chairs and firecrackers.
In the northeastern industrial city of Tangshan, one couple led a £20m vehicle procession through the town before taking over four floors at a top hotel.
The couple drove the 1,640ft cavalcade, which included 30 Rolls Royce Phantoms, a Ferrari and a swarm of luxury motorcycles past stunned onlookers.
Upon arrival at the hotel, the couple, surnamed “Liu”, were greeted by celebrities, businessmen and the nation’s netizens, who left more than 37,000 comments on Weibo about the festivities.
Some are looking further afield to iconic settings for luxury wedding snaps. Recently, there has been a wave of young couples heading to London to pose in front of Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye and other famous landmarks after tying the knot.
