Russian oil giant Gazprom Neft has turned to Italy to help produce and launch its new G-Energy synthetics brand.
Announcing the new G-Energy range, which Gazprom claims will include more than 40 different individual products by the end of 2010, the Russian oil producer held a media conference at the headquarters of style gurus Italdesign-Giugiaro.
Better known for designing iconic cars such as the Ferrari 250 GT Bertone, the Lotus Esprit and the Lancia Delta, the Giugiaro team have now come up with a brand and pack design for the G-Energy range that is certain to catch the eye when stacked on the lubes shelves.
The lubes that fill the packs also have the Italian touch, with Gazprom turning to its facility in Bari to produce the oil. The site has capacity for 30 thousand tons of motor oil and 6 thousand tons of viscous lubricants annually.
Gazprom Neft Chairman, Alexander Dyukov stated that production growth is a "top priority" while maintaining a consumer focus. He claimed that "G-Energy stands to become a truly international brand marketable both in Russian and international markets".
