Fuchs Lubricants has gained supplier approval for metallurgy products from Rolls Royce for it's aerospace division.
Fuchs can now supply its Ecocool S761B metalworking coolant to Rolls Royce facilities and subcontractors. The product can also be used as a creep feed grinding fluid under CSS 129 and CSS 131 specifications respectively.
The product was tested by Rolls Royce and the UK's Nottingham University and passed for heavy duty usage. Ecocool is, according to Fuchs, the result of significant development to create a coolant capable of working effectively with the new generation of aircraft engines and metals, such as titaniums Ti 6-4 and Ti-5553.
An independent study from Warwick University, also in the UK, apparently showed Ecocool S761B to significantly out-perform competitive products in relation to tool wear. The product has already been approved by Boeing and Pratt & Whitney.
