The PetroChina Daqing Petrochemical Company will test over 2,000 lubricants samples at its northern workshop laboratories in August.
After the comprehensive inspection, the company is hoping to improve rationalise its human and operational resources, additives use, energy consumption and equipment efficiency.
Daqing will use eight categories, including viscosity, machine complexity and moisture content to assess the quality of the lubricants.
The company, a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corp, claims the benefits of such a vast study are numerous. As well as controlling lab conditions, such as temperature and testing equipment, the large-scale testing will allow them to produce a comprehensive and complete study of its lubricants range.
Despite the undertaking, operations at Daqing Petrochemical’s production facility are running as usual. Upon implementation of the test analysis, the company hopes to save as much as 50% on integration, equipment, analysis of resources and additives spend.
