The automotive and consumer electronics industry are becoming an ever-closer alliance
With car users expecting more and more high-end infotainment in their vehicles, new alliances are being formed between the automotive industry and consumer electronics suppliers.
Audi and Google's recent partnership has led to the launch of a 10 inch Android tablet which is part of the wider Open Automotive Alliance, a Google-led collaboration involving Audi, GM, Honda, Hyundai-Kia and a chip supplier.
Meanwhile, Renault's latest prototype highlighted the fact that tablet and other mobile technology could be at the heart of the car of the future.
With this trend in collaboration, for some automotive companies, the question appears to be, do these alliances have a positive or negative impact on brand value?
