BamBoo by name, bamboo by nature

The latest vehicle from Swiss designers, Rinspeed, is likely to be of particular interest to pandas.

The Rinspeed BamBoo is set to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2011 and is the latest in a history of weird and wonderful designs from Frank M. Rinderknecht.

Described in the company's own media release as resembling a "grown-up golf cart" the all-electric vehicle's name relates to the fact that a large number of interior components are made from natural bamboo fibre.

In the hyperbolic media information, which is an art form in itself, Rinspeed urges that: "anyone not blinded by horsepower orgies, chrome tinsel and top-speed frenzy should take a closer look. “BamBoo” pushes the ‘reset’ button, clears the mind for a new way of thinking".

Apparently, Rinderknecht doesn't just use modern design cues, he "focuses in them the yearning to get back to the roots, paired with the absolute desire to be in harmony with creation".

You be the judge.
