A rusty 1949 Talbot has sold at auction in Paris for $1.9m.
The Talbot Lago T26 Grand Sport SWB par Saoutchik is very rare simply because the Saoutchik family only built four bodies in this style to advertise their skills at European auto shows.

The beautiful car was thought to have been lost, but was recently discovered having been originally picked-up by a French businessman 35 years ago who then stored it in an open-air barn.
As a result, the interior has become very badly rusted but the character of the vehicle is still evident. Simply arresting the decay will be expensive but could save the Saoutchik family's work, while a full restoration could cost as much as $1 million.
